Thanks to all who joined us last Friday! Our most recent internet marketing seminar, “Using Google AdWords to Find New Customers,” was a success. We had a great crowd that included a number of previous seminar attendees and quite a few new faces as well. As our seminar series continues, we’re continually impressed with the wide range of businesses represented. It’s a testament to how much potential we all see in Google’s stronghold on internet search, and how valuable it is to be on top of that wave.
This particular seminar focused on helping businesses leverage the opportunity of Google’s Pay Per Click services and reporting tools, with the goal of reaching quality traffic in a cost-efficient way. Led by Jo Stumpner, Top Floor’s PPC Marketing Manager, seminar attendees explored:
- What makes Google PPC so potentially effective
- How to identify your target audience and track website goals accordingly
- Establishing target keywords and negative keywords
- Organizing your PPC account structure (campaigns, adgroups, ads)
- What a “quality score” is (and why it matters)
- How to optimize your campaign based on your specific goals
- Measuring, monitoring, adjusting and controlling your campaign
If you missed out on this seminar, take heart! The talented Jo Stumpner will again be sharing her expertise when this Google AdWords workshop reoccurs late this coming summer. Also on tap:
- Google Analytics Workshop – May 6, 2011 – Wauwatosa, WI (This in-depth workshop takes the basics discussed above and goes much deeper, with hands-on activities and one-on-one website assessment advice.)
- Social Media Bootcamp – June 24, 2011 – Wauwatosa, WI
- Website Usability Workshop – Summer 2011 – (Date/location TBD)

The seminar was very informative and a great way to stay current on new Google trends. Jo is very knowledgeable and passionate about what she does. She presented information in an organized, easy to understand format. The “Quality Score” portion of the presentation was of particular interest to me.
Thanks for your feedback, Mary! We’re glad you got so much out of the seminar.
